I am a Dutch journalist and writer based in Tunis, Tunisia, where I cover North Africa, the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region. I hold a Master's in the Arabic language and culture and have also lived in Egypt, Kuwait and Dubai.

My articles and photos have been published in a wide range of Dutch and English-language media outlets, such as Al Jazeera English and ANP, the largest news agency in the Netherlands. I focus on migrants, minorities, security, the environment, business, academic research, travel and anything connected to the Arab world and the Netherlands.
